Scott
Turkington
Born
January 23rd 1979 in the quaint fishing town of Homer Alaska,
Scott had no idea that the sense of adventure bestowed upon
him by living in the "Last Frontier" would take
him on so many amazing adventures later in life! Whether
it was hiking to one of the many glaciers situated on Kachemak
bay, or mountain biking a rugged trail carved out of the
side of a mountain, there never seemed to be a limit on
the amount of experiences one could have in this vast wilderness.
Through
his early years Scott always had a love for the arts. He
grew up sketching, painting, sculpting and creating art
when ever he could. He always knew that someday his art
would play a major role in his life.
After
graduating with a degree in Multimedia and Web Design, he
worked as a graphic designer for several years until finally
being asked to work for an alternative fuel company founded
by his cousin and co-host of What in the World, Charles
Anderson.
Golden
Fuel Systems, the company founded by Charles, converts diesel
engines to run on used cooking oil from restaurants. Often
times their job required that Scott and Charles travel to
some exotic locations. Because of Scott's background in
Multimedia and Web Design he always had a camera on hand
to capture and document anything exciting that might happen
on their adventures. Soon they began acquiring a
wealth of footage not only of the incredible places they
traveled too but also of a variety of different technologies
and subjects in the sustainable living field. Because of
their desire to share the adventures they go on and what
amazing technologies they've uncovered, it was time to take
the footage and produce a show that the viewing public could
see.
Being the camera man on What in the World, you might not
see him on screen very much throughout the show but Scott
is always right in the middle of all the action! Scott is
also the producer, editor, script writer, graphic designer,
and web designer or What in the World, which keeps him quite
busy!
Together, with Charles leading the way and Scott not far
behind him with camera in hand, they go where ever adventure
might take them. They travel the globe in search of new
locations and technologies in which to explore. Stay tuned
because you never know Where or What in the World they might
be doing next! |
